Delegates attending the online Seminar Speaking at the opening of the Seminar, Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien – Standing Vice Director of VNU-CEA mentioned that the COVID-19 Pandemic has brought about great challenges and impact on the strategic objectives of accreditation of the national system. This requires us to find out new methods to respond to the new situation. It’s important for Vietnam to learn from the experience in online accreditation of other ASEAN nations, especially of the Philippines, where online accreditation was conducted very early.
Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien – Standing Vice Director of VNU-CEA gave an opening speech

At the Seminar, Mr. Ricardo R. Palo – Executive Director of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) shared experiences on higher education accreditation in the Philippines and the adaptation of online assessment methods, with emphasis on PAASCU’s experiences in education accreditation (standards, processes, methods and use of quality accreditation results); experiences in online assessment for higher education institutions and programmes.
After that, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan shared detailed studies and assessments on the impact of education accreditation activities on university autonomy, which is a relatively new issue in Vietnam. Using the results of education accreditation to give autonomy to higher education institutions as well as planning policies to invest in and support education institutions will be a premise to promote and improve the quality of education.
